Freeport, Grand Bahamas Island

I was not that lucky to be in port for a much longer time during the day, enough to go ashore to visit Port Lucaya where the Market place was located . Nevertheless, I had the chance to see how it is during midnight, where safety and security is quite impressive.
The Casino also closes at midnight but it was good to see around and feeling secure, because of police visibility . Patrol cars are roaming around in the wee hours of the morning.
However, it was good that hubby was able to visit the place during day time  in his previous trips and had the following shots at the beach of Port Lucaya:
The sand is powdery but a bit yellowish because of the silica content, which they exported.
A snap taken at a shop that sells various  souvenirs to tourist.
The Passenger ship that was also in port during our call carries tourist that makes the economy at Freeport vibrant.
More souvenirs can be found in the Market place including beach towels.
The place never runs out of amenities available during day time only.
Now, I know why the place is a favorite vacation spot in the Carribbean. It is indeed a good place to do R and R.
