Coffee Cup

Susan Gale said that "Old memories are like coffee with cream and sugar, when stirred both can become mellow and sweet. "

How I missed having a good cup of coffee from  Starbucks with a special someone who is willing and able to get me one especially on a gloomy Sunday. :(

Faces of the Sea : Thank You Seafarers

On June 25,  2013, we are one with the world to pay tribute to the 1.5 million seafaring professionals who are dubbed as the "Unsung Heroes” of the Seas..."The Seafarers."
This year's theme features the "Faces of the Sea."
To the men, I sailed with THANK YOUfor the lessons learned and the memories.
To those, that I came to know by chance or through the social media, your stories at sea are all worthwhile to feature.
There is always a reason to smile when the vessel gets into port after a 19-day sea passage from South Africa to USA east coast or vice versa. Whether to unwind ashore, receive snail mails and packages, do some shopping, visits the place tourist attraction, feel the culture, blend with the locals or simply wait for a homeward flight.

A Tale of Love and Two Lighthouse

To the Seafarers,  a  lighthouse is a structure ashore that aids them in navigation, giving warning against the dangerous coastlines, hazardous shoals & reefs. It is also a beacon of light for safe transit to inland channels or harbors, where a welcome respite hopefully awaits.
To me, the"lighthouse" signifies a new hope at love and life.

1. Improve your Skills
In order to be a great boss, you need to equip yourself with appropriate skills. If you do not have supervisory experience, you may want to attend management seminars and other training programs that will help you become an effective manager, supervisor or boss.
2. Study the Company’s Vision and Mission
You do not want to end up scratching your head when some new employee asks you about the company’s background, mission and vision. If you want to contribute to the achievement of that vision and mission, you have to know them first.

Handling Change

Change is the only thing that is constant. Let us be open to change, even if how hard it may seem. It requires patience, perseverance , hard work and acceptance.
It requires everything in us to move our life in a different direction. Sometimes, it needs to determine to break the habits that have caused us to live a life that does not reflect the real us. We need to embrace the fear of the unknown, and release the need to stay stuck in your established routines. We are bigger and stronger than any habit, addiction, or circumstance.

Change is not the result of wishful thinking, willpower, or even intention. It will happen because of hard work, careful planning, focused energy, and feeling the pain that has kept you stuck. Until the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of change...our life will remain exactly the way it is. This new way of living requires dedication, practice, patience, and pushing ourselves in the right direction over and over again. We can change our life. We can do hard!! We deserve!! ~ Les Brown
