Algeciras in Spring time

In the beautiful Maria Cristina park, next to the Merinies bains, we can find the replica of the Islamic Noria. It is  an old faithful large Muslim wheel reproduction that was used to carry water to the bath or hammam.

Flowers bloom in Spring time. I  was amazed to see how beautiful  and big the roses are in the park of Maria Cristina.
Parque María Cristina is a park in Algeciras, southeastern Spain. It is bordered by Calle de Ramón y Cajal to the north, Calle Capitán Ontañón to the east, Avenida de Blas Infante to the south, and Avenida de las Fuerzas Armadas to the east. It is one of the oldest parks in the city, established in 1834.[1] It covers an area of 20,683 m²
Plaza Alta is the nerve center of the city, it has some of the most emblematic buildings of Algeciras, the Church of the Palm Chapel of Europe, and it split the most popular streets of the city as the Broad Street or Calle Convento .
It is the meeting place of the city and often the scene of demonstrations and gatherings of all kinds as well as some of the most important festivals of the city such as Easter, New Year or holiday Tosantos.

The Nuestra Senora de la Palma is a beautiful eighteenth century church  located on the Plaza Alta and its bell tower can be seen from afar. It's construction began in 1723 and ended 13 years later. You can see five naves and side chapels. It's tower is the work of Paul Casaus, the same one who built the aqueduct Arches.
Our Lady of Europe Chapel  is a Roman Catholic chapel located in the High Square (Spanish: Plaza Alta ) of Algeciras (Spain). It is considered as the foundational element of the modern city of Algeciras. It was the host of the statue of the Virgin and the Child kept in the Shrine of Our Lady of Europe from the capture of Gibraltar by the Anglo-Dutch fleet in 1704 to 1864.
Pigeons are abundant in Plaza Alta greeting tourist. :)
Some students were doing exhibits at Palza Alta when we passed by.
I'm glad  that she gamely posed with me for a remembrance.
Beauty comes in all races and ages.
Plaza de Toros de las Palomas , officially "Monumental Las Palomas", is a 1969 Spanish bullring located in Algeciras (Andalusia, Spain), Second Category and has a capacity of more than eleven thousand spectators.

Algeciras is very walkable around the old town and the guide map

will aid tourist to the different spots.
